Ulric Johnson, is the founder
of Cross-Cultural Consultation and is a counselor and educator specializing
in the role of color, culture, class, and context in the prevention,
progression, and treatment of addictive behaviors, such as gang violence,
drug use, drug distribution, and "isms".
In addition to Cross-Cultural Consultation, he is the founder and
director of Teens Against Gang Violence, a peer leadership, youth
and family program, comprised of Teens 12-20, Parents Against Gang
Violence (P.A.G.V.), Children Against Gang Violence (C.A.G.V.), and
Babies Against Gang Violence (B.A.G.V.).
A faculty member of Harvard University's Graduate School of Public
Education, and Lesley College's Center for Peaceable Schools and Communities,
Ulric has a Ph.D. in Psychology from Southwestern University as well
as certifications as an Addition Specialist, an AIDS Counselor, a
Licensed Rehabilitation Counselor, and a Licensed Marriage and Family
Therapist.
He is the author of the following curriculums: Gang Violence Prevention:
a discussion guide for Teachers, Parents and Youth Workers, Elementary
Violence Prevention: Grade K-5, and We Can Do It, a senior citizen
violence prevention guide.
He is presently working on two books: Gang Violence Prevention: A
Cross-Cultural Perspective, and A Peace and Justice Gang, based on
the lives and work of members of Teens Against Gang Violence.
